The El Salvador Toy Box Project was started in 2004 by Carlos Rivera in an effort to bring much needed medical supplies, toys, school supplies, and clothing to the children of El Salvador. We have made two successful trips and are preparing for a third. If you are interested in helping please see below for our current goals and needs. Also see our “How You Can Help” page for information about making donations or volunteering.
Current Goals and Needs

As of March 2006, Carlos has been planning and organizing the next trip. Our near future goals are to set up very low cost computer/study labs in different locations of El Salvador, and to continue bringing much needed medical supplies, toys, school supplies, and clothes. Each year we are hoping to travel to different parts (the poorest parts) of El Salvador so that other communities are able to receive the same help that is needed in much of the country.

Items that are needed the most are:

Medical Supplies: Children's and adult multi-vitamins, pre-natal vitamins, formula, baby bottles, pacifiers and holders, children's Tylenol/Ibuprofen.

School Supplies: Anything that is used in the United States for schools is also acceptable in El Salvador.

Toys: Small toys like, Barbies, matchbox cars, coloring books, puzzles, travel games, anything that is small and can fit in a shoebox-sized container.

This year we are also looking for travel-sized personal hygiene products.
